What we believe, why we believe it, and — above all — what we will never do. No exceptions, no compromises.
The internet was born as a commons: to share what we know, to close the distance, to make neighbors of strangers.
Then the commons was enclosed. You became the product: every click measured, every interest resold, every movement monetized — without ethics, without oversight.
And with no one keeping watch, harm found its own market: what should be hardest to reach became a single request away.
It doesn't have to stay this way. Choose what your devices are allowed to ask for, and much of the market simply never reaches you — fewer eyes on your data, fewer doors left open.
Every product decision goes through them. If a choice doesn't respect them, we don't make it — even when that would be easier, more profitable, or faster.

When you browse, you move through a stream of signals: some are the ones you're looking for, others are noise — someone watching you without permission, someone who wants to harm you, the things you never asked to see.
Purge's purpose is to remove that noise. Every product decision, every line of code, every filter has to pass a simple test: does it remove noise, or add it?
If it adds noise, we don't ship it. No exceptions.

We don't ask you to take our word for it: we give you the means to check. The software that runs on your devices is open source, under licenses that guarantee you the right to read it, modify it, and know whether someone has changed it.
The blocklists you download are open data, inspectable domain by domain. The systems we use to build them are publicly documented.
Transparency is proportional to how much the software
touches your life: where it runs on your machines, we give
you the code; where it processes public data to
produce public data, we give you the method.
If you can't check it, don't trust it — us included.

No payment, partnership, sponsorship, or outside pressure will ever change our products so that they act against the people who use them.
No domains whitelisted for money. No telemetry hidden behind technical pretexts. No decisions altered in exchange for favors.
If a Purge product does something, it does it because it's right — not because someone asked us to.

Purge's blocklists, code, and public services are free — no subscription, ever. There are no paywalls, there are no tiers, there is no "premium" version with features held back.
There is only one version, available to everyone on the same terms. What we give to the world is the best quality we're capable of producing — and we give it to everyone, without distinction.
Anyone who wants to can contribute. No one has to.

The products in the Purge ecosystem aren't tied to one another, and the ecosystem is open.
Want to use our blocklists on another DNS filter? No problem. Want to use our DNS filter with someone else's blocklists? No problem.
We believe everyone has the right to build their own ecosystem with the tools they prefer — Purge is one of those tools, not a cage.
Stay because it works, never because you're trapped.
The five principles explain the why. These four are what you can verify today — in the code, in the data, in the traffic leaving your network — without taking our word for any of it.
