We collect the minimum
Only your email, and only if you subscribe to the newsletter. The lists are used without an account.
Purge.cc is a privacy-first project: we collect the bare minimum, we profile no one and we sell nothing. This page explains, in plain language, what data we process, why, and how you can control it at any time.
Only your email, and only if you subscribe to the newsletter. The lists are used without an account.
No ad pixels, no profiling, no third parties. The only analytics are self-hosted and consent-based.
Your data is never sold, rented or transferred to third parties for marketing purposes.
Access, export or delete your data whenever you want. Send an email and we'll take care of it.
Purge.cc is an independent project, run today by a single maintainer and open to anyone who wants to contribute. The controller of the personal data collected through this site is Edoardo Piccolotto, Via Berna 11/6, 20147 Milano, Italy, reachable at privacy@purge.cc.
We process data in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable national legislation. For any question about this policy or your data, write to us: a real person answers you, not an automated form.
We draw a clear line between the use of the blocklists — which requires no data — and the few optional services that do involve some.
No profiling cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal browsing history, no data from your DNS queries. The lists are static files: downloading them reveals nothing about you to us beyond the ordinary HTTP request.
We process personal data only when there is a valid legal basis under Art. 6 GDPR:
The newsletter is managed through Brevo (Sendinblue), which acts as a data processor on our behalf. We keep only your email address and the dates of the request and of the confirmation. We do not add profiles, behavioral tags or open-tracking for advertising purposes.
Subscription is double opt-in. After you submit the form we send a confirmation link from nl@purge.cc. Until you click it, the address is stored as pending and is not used for campaigns. Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 30 days.
Every campaign email contains an immediate unsubscribe link. Alternatively, write to privacy@purge.cc and we'll remove you. Once unsubscribed, your address is deleted from the active lists.
Like any web server, our infrastructure records incoming requests. We use these logs solely to diagnose problems, mitigate abuse and scale the service.
The site uses no profiling or advertising cookies. We store only your consent choice, and we use Umami — a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool — which loads only if you opt in. See the dedicated Cookie Policy for the full list.
We embed no social widgets, tracking pixels or third-party advertising scripts. You can grant or withdraw analytics consent at any time from the cookie preferences button in the bottom-left corner of every page.
We rely on a small number of providers, selected for reliability and privacy focus. Each one processes only the data strictly necessary for its function.
With each external processor there is in place — or will be formalized — a data processing agreement (DPA) under Art. 28 GDPR.
We do not keep personal data beyond the time necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
The GDPR grants you a range of rights over your data. To exercise them, write to privacy@purge.cc: we respond free of charge and within the time limits set by law.
You also have the right to withdraw your consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
We favor providers that process data within the EU/EEA. Should a provider transfer data outside the EEA, the transfer takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards provided for by the GDPR — for example the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.
The service is not directed at minors under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the services or in the legislation. The current version and the update date are always shown at the top of the page. Substantial changes will be announced, where appropriate, also via the newsletter.
For any request relating to privacy or to exercise your rights, write to privacy@purge.cc or by post to Via Berna 11/6, 20147 Milano, Italy. For anything else, you'll find our contact details below.
